On the night of 22 March, 2009; The MogollonMonster.com Research team decided to return to the area where they heard the voices in the bushes the day before. However, they wanted to do it at night. They outfitted themselves with night vision and backup flashlights. The members were Clay Randall, Shannon Waite, Sterling Waite, Jerry Waite, and Ryan Cauldwell.

The Mogollon Monster received its name from the Boy Scouts of America at Camp Geronimo. However, the Mogollon Monster is another name for Bigfoot much like Sasquatch (Washington, Oregon, Canada, Alaska), Hairy Man (Apache ), Grass Man (Ohio), Yeti (Tibet), and Yowie (Australia). Most of the sightings of Bigfoot in Arizona happen along the Mogollon Rim which runs from Flagstaff to the New Mexico border

If you were go to one of the small towns on the Mogollon Rim and try to talk to the locals about the Mogollon Monster (Arizona’s Bigfoot), you would probably not have very much success. There is a lot of suspicion of the motives of the big city folks asking questions of such sensitive topics. However, it is another thing to talk to one of their own. My ancestors were the early settlers of Springerville, St Johns, Show Low, Clay Springs, Heber, Overguard and Young, Arizona. Over the years, I have sat with my relatives around the campfire while listening about the Mogollon Monster. However, they mostly used the name the Apaches gave “Hairy Man”.

On 20 July, 2009, the MogollonMonster.com research team made their first attempt to probe Spooky Valley. The researchers were David Waite, Preston Smith, and Mitchell Waite. Our arrival at the base camp was dismal. It was starting to look like a serious rain storm. We sent about setting up the camp trying to complete the process prior to the start of heavy rains. We made it. Just as we finished the tent, the rain changed from a drizzle to a downpour. It seemed as if we were not meant to make our attempt at scaling the mountains creating Spooky Valley. We hunkered down for the night and hoped the weather would be better.

On August 11, 2009 a trip was organized to retrieve the cameras from the south rim of the Bigfoot Spooky Valley. The participants were Preston Smith, David Waite, and Mitch Waite. Things went smoothly on this journey. The departed the trailhead at 08:00am, and headed down the tree strewn saddle which would lead them to the edge of the valley.

On August 25, 2009, a research team was formed to investigate the area of a previous sighting of Bigfoot. This area is located near Young, Arizona, and has been a very active area for Bigfoot sightings. Vocalizations include, screams, moans, howls, whistles and various animal imitations such as coyotes, whip-poor-wills, kill deer, and owls. The forest is unusual for Arizona. It is very lush, green and dense. Food and water sources are very abundant. All of these clues has brought the organization MogollonMonster.com to monitor the area with specialized motion sensing game cameras.

On 21 September, 2009 another research group was formed with the objective of retrieving the motion sensing cameras which were placed by an earlier research group. The research group going into the “Hot Zone on this trip consisted of Lorie and Clay Randall along with Mitch Waite. Both groups belong to MogollonMonster.com and are a part of a long term research project of Arizona’s Bigfoot on the Mogollon Rim. The “Hot Zone” is a nick name for the specific area in which has had numerous sightings and vocalizations.

It was a very dark night on 15 October, 2009. There was no breeze, but the cold had a nasty bite to any exposed skin. Three people braved the cold doing Bigfoot Research on the Mogollon Rim near Young, Arizona. They had spent the day looking for any signs of the biped, but had no luck. They had seen no other campers during the day. There were no hunters, no campers, and no one had been on the main road for hours.

On October, 2009, an expedition into the Hot Zone near Young, Arizona; A Bigfoot research team received a visitor during the night (see article Bigfoot Raids Ice Chest). All the team members were asleep, the night was pitch black, and a near 7 foot biped opens the ice chest and takes a Diet Coke and a foil of chocolate chip cookies. A motion sensing game camera barely captures the event. After enhancements on the video, the team can see the action more clearly. It is determined that it is not one of the researchers, not a rogue camper, but is indeed it is not human. After studying the video, the team also concludes the biped is female. It is decided to go back to the scene and duplicate the event.

On 17 November, 2009; the Bigfoot Research group of Mitch Waite, David Waite, and Preston Smith had another experience. This was the same group from the Bigfoot Raids Ice Chest and Bigfoot Clan events. The night the Clan walked through the camp was quiet until dawn. David and Mitch were just rolling out of their bedrolls and were starting the fire to obtain some warmth.
The chase on 24 November, 2009; continues. David Waite is in the lead and Mitch Waite is following. They are attempting to determine the source of the vocalizations being heard in the forest near Young, Arizona on the Mogollon Rim. The calls sound much like Coyotes, but there are several differences. The calls are too high in pitch. Mitch makes the comment it “Sounds like coyotes on helium”.So what does the Mogollon Monster, Arizona’s Bigfoot look like? We know basics about the feet, hair, and hands from the article “Bigfoot Hands.” We got our first look at a set of hands attacking the game camera hanging eight feet up a ponderosa pine tree. The fingers seem to be long and slender, and the thumb is opposable. However, many believe the video to be an optical illusion, and the hands are that of a normal human, and completely disregard the photo of the hand print in the mud found six miles away from where the Bigfoot Hands video was taken.

In the deepest reaches of the Mogollon Rim in Arizona, a Research team of Preston Smith and Mitch Waite are setting motion sensing game cameras looking for the Mogollon Monster, Arizona’s Bigfoot. It is 15 February, 2010; a cold and crisp day early in the season. Snow is still in the area, and the researchers are hoping to find tracks in the snow banks which would lead them to a high probability area to place their cameras.

It's now 2 p.m. and all hope is lost. The rescue helicopter and ambulance have just arrived but it's too late. It's just too late. He is gone.
It's an early Wednesday morning on September 21, 2011. Osvaldo Luna and Todd DiFronzo embark on what should be a promising trip to the Payson Arizona area in search of the recondite Mogollon Monster. Friday morning ten more LVPA group members will surface to join the hunt.

It would seem from all of the eye witness accounts we would know a little more about the mythical Bigfoot. On the contrary, we know very little. Bigfoot researchers and crypto zoologists now believe Bigfoot can range from 3 to 8 feet tall, and weigh between 50 to 800 pounds. There seems to be a slight difference in physical characteristics due to regions. The Skunk Ape of the Southeast is slightly smaller than the giants of the Northwest, and the Mogollon Monster seems to be more slender. There also seems to be differences in hair color, attitude, and social behavior related to the different regions

It is very interesting to follow the comments on Face Book and You-tube on Bigfoot Research videos. I have noticed Bigfoot research is hounded to the point where may believers are beaten into submission and quit trying to bring forth what they perceive to be the truth. Not only do they have to contend with bullies within their own ranks, but they have to deal with the non-believer skeptics. This article deals with the non-believing skeptics.

Have you ever wondered what comes into your camp when you are asleep? I have pondered on that question many a night while I lay in my bedroll in my totally secure tent. Wait, what was that. Was that a footstep just outside the canvas? There, hear it again? And as I lay there listening to the night sounds, I drift off to sleep. In the middle of the night, nature calls, and I have to use a bush. I am only semiconscious and nature out rules any thought of creatures lurking in the bushes waiting to pounce. I unzip the tent just a bit so I can peek out. Lots of good that thin piece of material making up the tent will do if there is a bear or mountain lion waiting for me. Nature is a powerful force, and I soon find myself in the bushes trying to convince myself there is nothing out here besides a few skunks, raccoon, or deer. Once satisfying nature it’s a mad dash to the safety of the tent and bedroll.

“Its pitch black out there,” Shannon stated when the lights of the truck turned off. “Something could walk right up and pull me out of the window, and I’d never see it!”
Indeed, it was a spooky night. There was no moon, no stars, and not even the light from the dashboard of the truck. The two men in the truck sat quietly and listened for a confirmation they were getting closer.
