MEET ARIZONA'S BIGFOOT. THESE ARE REAL PHOTOS. THE FIRST TAKEN BY MITCH WAITE ON FEB, 2010. THE SECOND PHOTO IS A GAME CAMERA PHOTO AS IT IS BEING PULLED DOWN FROM A TREE BY THE HAND IN THE THIRD PICTURE.
Notice: We are planning a dedicated/intensive one month field research study in the area we call the "hot zone". This will not be your "TV-hyped Searching for Bigfoot hit and run event". We are actually going to go there and "dig in" using every trick we can muster to catch the Mogollon Monster on video and in photos. If we are fully funded we will be drawing upon Bigfoot Researcher expertise from all over the US and Canada to participate (by invitation only). If you would like to participate, let us know. If you would care to donate equipment, send it to our address listed in the right side bar. If you wish to donate financially you can either go to Pay Pal and send your donation to Gold527@aol.com . Or, you can go to http://kck.st/zURDP4

During my research on the Lost Dutchman’s Gold Mine and the lore of the Superstition Mountains, I came across numerous mentions of other treasures, which could possibly be located in the Superstitions. Each of these items would make wonderful articles for my readers. My question to you all is which one should I do first? Leave me some feedback.

During my research on the Lost Dutchman’s Gold Mine, I have come across many references to other treasures and lost gold mines in or near the Superstition Mountains. A couple of references are of the Lost Gold Veins of Four Peaks. Four Peaks Mountain is located north of the Superstition Mountains across the Salt River. The references to the Four Peaks gold may also tie in to other tales of the Lost Helmet Mine, Marvin’s Beryllium Rocks, Dr. Thorne’s Lost Mine

He was about two miles from the jeep when he noticed a foundation of a stone house built in the wash. The walls of the house were built out of the rounded and smooth rocks from the wash bed. The room was just large enough to hold two maybe three people. However, there was a large table protruding from one of the walls. It was made out of a large, flat stone.

After crossing several arroyos, the deer hunter found himself on a flat shelf overlooking another large arroyo. On the mountain side of this shelf he found a mine shaft. He looked around a bit, but did not go into the shaft because he had no flashlight. However, he did notice something strange in the “Y” of an old cotton wood tree. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be an old Spanish helmet. It must have been placed in the tree limbs and they grew around the helmet locking it into place. He dubbed the place, the Helmet Mine.

One would think going to Weaver’s Needle and travel in a straight line to Four Peaks and eventually find where Dr Thorne saw the two mountains on the opposite ends of the compass. Eventually, you should run into a canyon that contains the quadrangle of rocks which looked like ruins. But it was not that easy. In fact, it was impossible until recently. Google Earth allows you to go to the top of Weaver’s Needle and fly straight north to Four Peaks. There is actually as very small corridor in which both can be seen on opposite ends of the compass. However, standing on the ground you have to be on a specific ridge and twenty five yards either way, and Weaver’s Needle disappears. It is also from this point you can see a square of rocks across the canyon.

The story of Adolph Ruth is one of the classics of the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine Legends and Lore. Adolph was a treasure hunter, and had previously claimed he located the Lost Peg-leg mine in California. However, no documentation has been found touting the discovery. While searching for the lost mine in California, Adolph got lost and was found 4 days later in a wash. When he saw his son, he exclaimed he had found the mine. Adolph spent some time in the hospital from injuries from that expedition. He had suffered from a broken leg, in which he had to have a metal plate installed to stabilize the bone. He walked with a limp the rest of his life.

In Part 1, we learned that Adolph Ruth was murdered in the Superstition Mountains, and his head was located about three quarters of a mile from where his body was finally located. The Maricopa Sheriff’s Department was able to positively identify the body by the metal plate which was placed In his leg when he broke it looking for the Lost Peg-leg Mine in California many months earlier.
