Over the last four years, there have been reports of a winged man like creature that stalks the area between Show Low, Saint Johns, and New Mexico. In many of the reports, the creature is seen inspecting road kill on the Highway, and it is generally seen during the night.

Traveling the Mogollon Rim in search of stories dealing with cryptozoology, the astute listener might encounter some very strange and bizarre stories of Yoh-Yoh. This creature is described as being half man and half wolf. It stands about six feet tall on its hind legs, has hairy human type arms and shoulders, but has the head of a wolf. The yellow eyes are said to be hypnotic in nature. It is unclear if it would be classified as a werewolf, a skin-walker or something unknown

Nessie of Loc Ness has nothing over Arizona’s Skin Fin of Lake Powell. There have been several reports of a creature having the head and neck of a brontosaurus, the body of an elephant, with a dorsal fin of a shark, and a tail of a manatee. The locals call him Skin Fin.

I have recently received two reports of a rather large creature swimming in Lake Powell. The sightings were on 31 July, and 1 August 2011. The first sighting was from two witnesses, and the second sighting was witnessed by five people. The sightings took place near Lone Rock. The water was very calm, and no boats were in the area.

Back in the late 1950’s, I was taken on a Javilina hunting trip with my father. We were to hunt the area in and around Tortilla Flats, Arizona. It was late spring for Arizona, and it had snapped cold after a week of unusual heat. We were in a hurry to get to the hunting area on opening day before the sun came up. I can remember riding in my Dad’s 1958 Chevy half-ton pickup truck twisting through the turns and corners leading to Canyon Lake. We flew past the bridges and soon passed the Tortilla Flats Post Office. We were in the vicinity of Mesquite Flats when the incident happened.

On 5 May, 2011, two crypto-zoologists (Alex Hearn and I) caught a very unusual event. They were returning to Mesa, Arizona from an expedition from the mountains north Globe area on US 60. As they came down through the Queen Creek Canyon they witnessed a silver disk pass from one side of the canyon entrance to the other. They figured it had to be some kind of helicopter. Proceeding on through Superior, continued their journey. They had just passed Florence Junction and was about to cross the Queen Creek wash when they spotted the contrail. Immediately, they pulled off the road and broke out the cameras. They were able to catch most of the event on video.
