The season kickoff

This event will take place during Spring Break (March 16 through 20, 2009).  This event is designed to try to photograph a large Bigfoot sighted during Expedition 1.  This creature is reported to be 8 foot tall and about 800 pounds.  It left the footprint of 19 inches.  To see a video with more information about Operation Silverback.  Click the footprint.


16-20 March--Season kick off.  This event took place as scheduled.  The gate was not opened, but we hiked into the area.  We did manage to retrieve our cameras that had been up there for over 9 months.  We have some very interesting photos and video to be posted.


6-7 April  This event has been canciled due to vehicle problems and tax preparation.


20-22 April, This event took place and we scored big.  4 footprints, a vocalization lasting over 30 minutes, a close encounter, woodknocking, and much more.  We'll have a trip report posted shortly.

Mogollon Monster Event Rules:

  1. This is not a spring break party! No shouting, screaming, or loud music.
  2. We keep a quiet camp. Talk just loud enough for the people in your conversation to hear. Keep it a low levels
  3. No ATVs buzzing in and out of camp. We are not there to ride ATVs, but to study Bigfoot characteristics.
  •     4.  You may not shoot the Bigfoot, or fire into the bushes. Keep in mind, there has been no legal determination as to if these creatures are humanoid or primate. It is possible you could be prosecuted for murder if you kill one. Also, keep in mind; there are hermits who live in the woods—homeless people living in the woods. Shoot one of those and you will face charges.  WE HAVE RECEIVED INFORMATION THAT THERE ARE SOME WHO ARE GOING TO SIGN UP SO THEY CAN SHOOT A BIGFOOT.  THEREFORE, FIRE ARMS ARE NOW BANNED.  WE SUGGEST YOU GET BEAR PEPPERSPRAY IF YOU NEED TO FEEL PROTECTED. 
  •      5.  While in camp and are going to stand stationary, stand under a Ramada or stretched tarp. We get rocks thrown at us from time to time.
  •      6.  No horse play. Slapping each other around is aggressive behavior and our biped friends will leave.
  • Absolutely no jokes to scare or intimidate anyone. You could get shot.
  •      7.  Announce yourself when leaving or entering the camp. Especially at night.  Never leave camp alone at night.  Always stay with in sight of your buddy while in the field.
  •      8.  Absolutely no alcohol beverages. You may need your wits about you. Alcohol and guns do not mix!
  •      9.  We have a media sharing policy. We all share any photos and video with the other event participants. This is in case one person gets a great shot of a Bigfoot. A copy is due to each member for them to use in their respective web sites or articles. But, the shared photos or video may not be sold without expressed written permission of the original photographer. The original photo copyrights belong to the photographer.

     

    MOGOLLON MONSTER BIGOOT ENCOUNTER TECHNIQUES.

  • THESE TECHNIQUES MAY NOT COST YOU YOUR MEMBERSHIP, BUT THEY MAY SAVE  YOUR LIFE.

    1. Keep your voices low
    2. Do not smile showing your teeth.
    3. Do not look them straight in the eye
    4. Do not stand upright, keep your head low. You can look at them, but only short glances with your head low. A slow rocking motion from side to side is asking for permission to leave. Clearing your throat in a low, gruff "ah-hmmm" manner announces you mean no aggression.
    5. Do not reach out to touch them
    6. If charged, do not run. Do not show fear. If attacked, fall to the fetal position and ball up the best you can.
    7. Do not flash them with bright flashlights or white lights.
    8. Do not chase them.
    9. Do not show your gun. They know what it is, and the sight of it may cause them to act violently.
    10. Do not make quick or sudden movements.
    11. Make no threatening gestures. Drop any walking sticks or anything that could be a weapon.
    12. If you hear them in the bushes, do not act like a "deer in the headlights" or stare into the bushes trying to see them. Go about your business, but keep close watch with your eyes, not your head.
